About Flight Patterns
If you’re a creator looking for inspiration or just curious about the creative life, Flight Patterns is written for you.
Flight Patterns is an eccentric collection of posts on many topics relating to the journey of art. I firmly believe that every artist is on a journey. Each step along the way brings new beauties and unforeseen obstacles. The goal of this publication is to help other artists along the way.
What if I’m not an artist? Every person, to some extent, expresses creativity in some form. People often portray art as this lofty, highbrow thing that is beyond the comprehension of the unwashed masses. No, art is integral to how we live our lives. You, your voice, and your art are welcome here.
The content of Flight Patterns strives to be inspiring, educational, and encouraging. May it be a blessing to you and others.

About the Curator
I, Desiree Flaming, am a passionate designer, artist and writer. I call the Pacific Northwest home. On one of our many rainy days, I can be found cozied up, lost in a project, with a sleeping cat, mug of tea, a pile of sticky notes, and some indie music for company.
My friends know me as a nerd, a writer, a lover of books, a music enthusiast, a needlecrafter, and a visual artist.
I mostly write informational articles, but I am full of stories and have a few fiction projects up my sleeve!
When I’m not creating art or madly cramming for midterms or clocking in for work, I’m making lists, getting into mischief with friends, sewing, talking to interesting people, and blogging.

Subscription Info & Posting Schedule
Free subscribers get access to my normal public posts, posted three Wednesdays out of the month. They also get 1 newsletter a month (end-of-month Recaps.)
Paid subscribers get access to all posts, including subscriber-only posts and the full archive of back posts. I send my paid subscribers 2 newsletters a month, the Recap and the mid month Update. They also have full access to chat features.
A note on pricing: because I don’t like how high Substack’s default subscription prices are, I set an automatic 60% discount. A monthly subscription is $2 a month, while a yearly subscription is $12 a year.
